Bath solicitor's Mogers, have kindly sponsored the RICE Memory Challenge since 2004 .

Anthony Nash Head of the Elderly Support Team says, "There are many problems associated with an ageing population. Mogers Elderly Support Team works with older clients and their families and offers specialist advice on a range of related matters. Through our work with families we are very aware that looking after someone with memory problems, dementia or Alzheimer's can be very difficult and many problems arise. The research and practical support offered by RICE is essential. Together we make a good partnership and this is why we were very pleased to support the RICE Memory Challenge."

  • Cross Manufacturing have generously supported the cost to publish a booklet to help aid memory.
  • A team of 6 from Coca-Cola Longwell Green are taking part in a Skydive in 2008 as part of a years fundraising partnership with RICE.
  • The MOD in Bath have been very supportive of the Institute over several years, sponsoring the annual Memory Challenge since 2004.
  • Tha Manager and Staff at the Red Lion Pub have fundraised by holding a quiz evening during 'Memory Week'. The RICE pink elephant 'mascot' even made an appearance.

We are pleased to work with both local and national companies. We value these partnerships and recognise that they make a real difference to The Institute and the community it serves. Whether a company wants to purchase much needed equipment, help running costs or sponsor a publication we would like to hear from you, contact Tricia Mugridge or tel 01225 476435

Events

Organise a Friday 'dress-down' day

Make it FUNdraising and ask your colleagues to come to work in something a little different. Jeans, shorts, how about dresses… for the boys? Schools have been doing this for years to help local good causes, they ask pupils to make a minimum donation (usually £1) to wear whatever they like to school.

Go without day

Go without '"ciggies", chocolate, cream cakes, go without your lunch, could you manage without one of your luxuries and show your support for RICE. Get family friends and work colleagues to pay you not to do it...can you last the day, never mind a week without your favourite tipple?

Take part in the annual Memory Challenge

elephantWho has the best memory? Who will be the memory master in your office? Click onto the Memory Challenge to learn how RICE wants to challenge the local community into helping us to advance the health and well-being of older people.

"Boss in the box"

Could you persuade your line-manager, team leader or supervisor to be incarcerated in a cardboard box for a couple of hours with a mobile phone? The challenge is to see how much money they can raise to set them free......Not for the claustrophobic amongst us!

Annual Memory Trail

Each year we have a new venue for this popular event. In September 2008, we have permission to walk around the Longleat estate.Get together with colleagues and enjoy some down-time.

Dress up and get your community giving! Fancy dressing?

How about dressing up and joining RICE for one of its Flag Days in a town near you. Very rewarding and great fun watching the world go by for an hour or two on a Saturday morning.

Payroll-giving (Cheat the tax man!)

For those of us who want to help but haven't the time to. Your company may already have a system in place, they will deduct your donation from your salary, you won't pay tax on the donation and we will get the tax added to what you give to us. For example, your donation of £5 per month to RICE is increased to £6.41.
