As part the Memory Clinic that RICE delivers, we always ask patients (and their families) what they thought of their experience. We do this every session and make sure that the staff involved in delivering the service get the feedback so that we can learn from it.
It’s a very simple survey and asks how likely the person would be to recommend the RICE Memory Clinic to friends or family if they needed similar care or treatment. It also gives people the chance to write their own thoughts on their experience.
This is the area that creates some wonderful comments which we share with each other but I thought I would share them more widely;
“Coming to the RICE clinic is always a pleasure. We are made to feel welcome and the staff are extremely friendly and professional. It is an amazing place and it’s so nice to see people who care so much about the individuals and not just see patients with dementia. Mum is always treated with huge respect and it feels like the staff treat them as if they were their own family members. Dementia is hard enough to cope with but when coming to RICE you feel you are listened to and helped. This is priceless. Thank you all for greeting us so well and for creating an amazing space and support for patients and carers with dementia”
“A very helpful and reassuring visit. The staff member was very kind and helpful.” [The staff member was named but I have chosen to anonymise it for posting on-line]
“Excellent reception staff. Very professional and sensitive. Felt safe in the department”
