There are many ways you can support RICE and help us lead the fight against dementia.
You may like to make a regular donation, volunteer for street collections, or ask your community group to become involved. Perhaps you can fundraise at no extra cost to you while you shop on-line at smile.Amazon, stores using PayPal or any of your favourite stores such as eBay, ASOS or John Lewis using easyfundraising. You can also use Facebook and GoFundMe to raise money with friends.
Alternatively you may decide to organise your own fundraising event and we have put together a guide with useful tips to help make your event as successful as possible!
Find a venue and pick a date. If it’s not at home, don’t forget to mention that the event is for charity as they may reduce the fee.
Decide who you want to invite. Is your event open to the public or just to invited guests?
Do you need support from volunteers on the day? Asking for help is always welcome – many hands make light work.
Tell everyone about the event. Your volunteers will be able to help with that as well. RICE can also promote your event on social media if you want to tell more people.
Make sure you’re ready for the big day and you enjoy it.
Please send any money you raise to RICE – either by making a donation online or by sending a cheque to the RICE office.
Whether you choose to volunteer, donate, organise an event, participate in a RICE event or leave a legacy to RICE, your support will make a real difference and will go directly towards funding our work in research, treatment and care. For more fundraising support or sponsor forms you can contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org.
It is not only individuals who make a difference, partnerships with Companies and grants from Trusts can also make a big difference to both research projects and the services we provide in the community.
Legacy & Gifts in Memory
Gifts in Wills and in memory of a loved one are a vital part of our income and go a long way to help RICE carry out our long term research strategy. If you’ve supported a charity during your life what do you want to happen after you’ve gone?
We’re not asking you to write or update your Will right now, we’re simply asking for you to give a thought to RICE and when the time is right we hope you’ll remember us in your Will and help our work carry on. As RICE is a registered charity, leaving a legacy is also tax free and will reduce the inheritance tax burden on your estate.
Any gift, no matter how small, will help us achieve our aim to advance the medical care and quality of life of older people everywhere. It will allow us to focus on researching the best ways of diagnosing and treating Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia and finding ways to help with the challenges of living with dementia, both for the person and their family and carers.
Take the time to think about what you want to happen after you’ve gone – it’s not only about your estate but also your end of life care. Leaving clear wishes will help any loved ones in what will be a very difficult time for them.
